| With such famous cartoon brands as Blue Cat, Rainbow Kitty & ShanMao as its featured representatives, Hunan's animation industry has occupied the prominent position across the country with its output remaining Linear Bearing No.1 for 3 consecutive years. From 2005 to 2007, owing to the fact that the average production of original cartoon in Hunan has reached 20,000-odd minutes, Hunan’s animation Industry was placed in the first place for three years stamping parts in a row. In 2008, it ranks first as its production capacity set a new record, 26,483 minutes. Great Dreams and Sunchime Cartoon placed first and second on the listing of annual output of cartoon enterprises as before. At present, there are 20 comparatively large-scale animation enterprises settled in Hunan Province, with the business sectors covering research and development, production and distribution, and the creation capacity of original cartoons reaching almost 40,000 minutes. The kinds of products derived from the animation industry approaches 17,975, with a total output valued over 6 billion yuan. Relying on the mobile phone, animation industry begins to march into new business sectors apart from keeping its traditional presentation on screen. Sponsored by Hunan Province, China Original Mobile Cartoon (COMC) Competition has already been held for 4 consecutive years. Hunan Talkweb Co., Ltd. and Hunan ShanMao Cartoon Co., Ltd. are thriving under such circumstances. In July, 2008, Talkweb has been successfully listed on the Shenzhen stock exchanges, thus becoming “the first share of animation” in China. |
